Several leading sociologists have noticed a trend:  people are less likely to use the good old courtesy phrases such as “you are welcome” or “thank you” – instead we hear a lot more “no problem” and “got it”.

1) we are more rude and/or

2) social norms changed – i.e. we are still well-mannered, just in a different way.
